NICSA’s annual East Coast Regional Meeting, which took place April 6 in Boston, focused on Artificial Intelligence and its impact on the financial services industry. A full house was indication that this is a timely and compelling topic.
AI: Oh My!
Robotics, machine learning, and data analytics all play a role in how financial professionals are handling strategic business planning in 2017 and beyond. To help asset managers address these evolving trends, we invited several industry insiders—including Accenture, State Street and BNY Mellon—to explore how financial services companies can leverage artificial intelligence within their businesses. We also heard from some non-traditional technology providers like DataRobot, indico Data, PwC, and Vantage Software and Coalesce about the AI technologies that are actively helping to transform operational processes within the industry, including those related to market research, news, and filings data, as well as audit and risk profiling.
What better way to highlight next-gen tech solutions than to include the next generation of industry leaders in the discussion? We extended a special invitation to rising, young professionals in the industry to help shape the conversation and provide valuable perspectives. NICSA’s regional meetings are a perfect opportunity for emerging leaders to gain valuable insight and build relationships with peers. Varied experiences, diverse backgrounds, and a high rate of acceptance of technological applications should place theses young professionals in good stead for what’s ahead and our attendees certainly benefited from their participation. Throughout the meeting, forward-looking ideas were exchanged among industry veterans and newcomers alike and new connections were forged.
THANK YOU to all of the speakers and attendees—as well as our hosts and sponsors for the day, PwC and Computershare—who all helped make the annual NICSA East Coast Regional Meeting a success. Feel free to reach out to us with questions, comments, or suggestions you may have on future NICSA events.
