Among a series of impressive speakers lined up for this year’s Strategic Leadership Forum, we’ve got one “out-of this-world” keynote lined up.
Retired NASA Astronaut Scott Kelly is scheduled to present “The Sky is Not the Limit – Lessons from a Year in Space” on January 31 at the NICSA SLF. Kelly’s record-breaking year in space was a historic mission that held the world’s attention with live videos and imaging from the International Space Station. Kelly launched into space along with Russian Cosmonaut Mikhail Kornienko for twice the typical mission duration. Working and living aboard the station for twelve months provided researchers the opportunity to advance knowledge in the medical, biomedical, and psychological fields.
Featured on the cover of Time magazine, and covered by the Today Show, CNN, and Forbes, Kelly is sure to captivate NICSA attendees with tales from space that reveal a unique outlook on facing adversity, pushing the limits, and leveraging teamwork in difficult conditions.
Social Media Guru?
In addition to setting the foundation for future space travel and exploration, America’s first year-round astronaut also set the bar for communication and engagement with his followers. While in space, Kelly managed to become a social media machine and attracted millions of followers. Open communication and personalization of content led to an overwhelming response from a worldwide audience fully invested in his journey.
